A LOVELY DAY IN MAY

Today was a beaut. I was so nice that I didn't even think about writing anything. Just sat ouside and talked to the ducks that have taken up residence. Quack and Queenie, two Mallards. And they are very bright little ducks...probably smarter than little Paulie Krugman who was especially nonsensical today...but what the heck. It was so nice a day I couldn't care less.

Fitch downgraded Greece today to B+. Yawn. It was a really nice day.

The Euros are spitting at each other over how to deal with their little Hellenic brother as I told you they would be so doing about six months ago. Yawn. It was a really, REALLY nice day.

Despite how nice a day it was, I have a real sense of unease. Do you, like me, get the impression that people are devising solutions for problems that don't exist both here and over there? Maybe it's because they just really don't understand the problems or refuse to acknowledge them. There was a guy on tv today who said with great conviction that he couldn't think of a scenario in which interest rates would rise. See what I mean? How can interest rates NOT rise since the last time I looked they stand at 0 for the short term? I'm going to think about what to write on this subject over the weekend but right now I have to feed the ducks and enjoy the rest of this REALLY, REALLY nice day. Have a great weekend
