THE ADMIRABLE HARRIS

I lost John Harris today.  He was one of the smartest, funniest, experienced and sardonic bankers I have ever known.  Better to be set upon by a pack of hounds than John.  He didn't suffer fools badly, he suffered them not at all.  And yet he was one of the kindest of men and a simple joy to be around.  I hired John; we were together for years.  To his wife, Judi, herself a pioneer for women in the world of banking with Citibank in Asia and his children, my heartfelt sympathy.  In his career, John had done it all and just about everywhere.  This was the last thing left for him to do.  Goodbye my dear friend.

Have a great weekend.
