I FEEL BETTER ALREADY

Goodness, what a relief! Healthcare for all and reduction of the deficit. Yeah, right. Yesterday was a marvelous study in contrasts: the disgraceful exhibit of raw dishonesty in the passage of the health care bill coupled with crass political deal-making as opposed to the emotion and commitment of a bunch of kids...KIDS...both male and female on a wooden court for nothing but self image and pride. It was everything awful and wonderful that this country has to offer; why do some of these kids have to grow up and become politicians? So now we have health care and all we have to do is figure out how to pay for it. Can someone say, Value Added Tax, for surely that is where we are going, and with it probably the extinguishing of American preeminence in the world. Oh, it will not happen immediately; we still have a few years to run but the myth that nations and empires take generations to decline and fall is simply that; a myth. In reality, it happens very quickly. What emerges, I hope, will be the left's view of a world of relative equals prepared to live and work together. I hope but believe that view to be a nonsense. I hope to be around to see who's correct.

Anyway, I shall continue in my quest to be objective in my writings with but an occasional political commentary as that above. Don't know what's next on the agenda but I think the China Connection deserves a re-visiting and therefore, we will have a go at that along with continued coverage of the Hellenic farce that continued over the weekend. There is plenty to do along with the further antics of this Congress as to banking and finance.

A word to reader Jacq: I wish I was trying to protect my banking job my dear reader but I don't have one. Haven't had one for quite a while now and one of the reasons is that I didn't like the direction in which the industry was moving so I got out...too soon I'm afraid but then life's a bit of a gamble isn't it. If you have work, please write but by all means keep reading and keep commenting. Keeps me going. Thanks.

See you tomorrow
